Over the years Catalyst' principals began to see a trend with small law firms.  Clients wanted significant changes. Clients would create the strategic plans. Clients were willing to do the work necessary to effect change. Clients did not have the financial means to hire full-time high level general managers or chief technology officers to provide the support and direction and accountability to make the strategic plan work. The plan would be put on a shelf to gather dust.

With that in mind, a decision was made to test market the ability of Catalyst to work on-line with law firm owners to provide direction and support as well as implement change that could allow growth. The results of the services provided went beyond our expectations and Catalyst is now pleased to offer this service to a select few law firms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHAT SERVICES DOES LAW FIRM COACH PROVIDE?

We begin by doing an assessment of the law firm by telephone interview or an on-site meeting in Raleigh (if preferred) to see if our services will be of benefit. We do not undertake every applicant and we are able to offer insight into firm problems with suggested short term help or suggestions through a phone conference. In some rare instances we will travel to a client’s office for an initial work session to view the firm with on-line services thereafter provided.

Once we accept the law firm as a client, we then have total access to all cases, financials, plans, marketing, human resource information, etc. and we develop with the owner a strategic plan and a business plan with benchmarks. We do this by email and/or access through the internet directly into the law firm if the firm has this capability. We can also set a two day meeting in Raleigh to work on the plan face to face. We set benchmarks for accountability of things that have to be done.

We act as the advisor and general manger to the principals. This means that we meet by phone at least once a month if not more to discuss on-going problems, organization, development, employee management, technology and even marketing. We do as much or as little as needed to help meet the goals of the owner.

We draft processes and procedures for implementation into the firm and help develop management guidelines. We provide and share forms and ideas that help the owner or owners learn how to be effective leaders in their own firms. We can help hire people, do client surveys, and generally act as the hidden CEO at an affordable price.

We are accessible on-line and have 24/7 contact for emergencies. We help train the owner or owners and we train management people to take over. We work as hard as the owner works to make the firm a success!

HOW MUCH?

Each firm is different based on needs and size and the extent of the strategic plan development. However the following is a generalization.

We require a retainer fee to cover the up front work. Depending on how many hours required our retainer fee will run anywhere from $2500.00 to $7500.00, non-refundable. Out of this comes a business plan. The plan is approved and we set benchmarks for accomplishments within the firm.

After approval of the plan and if the firm retains us for further implementation, we require a one year contract with a monthly fee. Our fees range from $1500.00 per month to $5000.00 per month. All monthly contract fees are due by the 25th of the month in advance for the following month

We believe that our high-level experience is worth this investment of funds and is reasonable. Good General Managers or Chief Operations Officers have starting salaries of $100K or more. This gives you access to this level of management and we will even help you hire your first GM!

We provide a free telephone consultation to discuss your firm. We will even provide you a half day meeting with us in Raleigh at no cost to you except your time and travel. We want success stories and we want to be sure we can help you. If we can’t we are honest and we also point you in the right direction.
